I don’t photograph many high school seniors because, like most of my family photography, I don’t promote it. People find me from word of mouth, usually a friend of a friend. As was the case with Samantha. She’s the niece of my friend Emily and spent this summer as an intern here in Denver. Before heading home to Montana to begin her senior year, we met in Morrison to take senior pictures. Like many teens she wasn’t looking forward to having her picture taken. So, before taking the lens cap off the camera, we walked around the park, I pointed out some of the better spots to photograph and Samantha noted her favorites. Before long, she was ready to shoot so we headed down the trail, camera in hand and aunt Emily in tow, spending the next hour or so capturing images. She had fun and we left the park as the sun dropped behind the ridge and rain began to fall. Another great shoot.
